How to counter a grenade

Although not used very often, the grenade can proove to be a excellent weapon in the hands of the right person. Dealing a maximum of 300 damage, this little thing can easily decrease your 200 HP to 0 in just a single flash. Therefor you always have to keep your eyes on the enemy.

It is very easy to see when a survivor has a grenade in its hands. Whenever he does, it is easy to predict what his next action is going to be. And unless he was just switching weapons he is most likely going to throw that thing right at ya. You can now do two things. First of all you can, ofcourse, simply dodge the grenade. Most of the time grenades aren’t thrown with much accurcy and you won’t even have to do anything.

However, when the grenade is thrown at your feet you should simply dodge and duck. Hiding behind a desk or a couch will already be enough to get away from the blast anyway. Second thing you can try is to punch the grenade back at the survivor. This will proove to be tricky. Therefor, you might wanna try punching away other small objects first, that don’t actually explode in your face. However, when done correctly, you might be able to hurt the survivor with his own grenade.

Some last tips towards the grenade. Some survivors use it as a kamikaze thing. In other words, they will throw it at their own feet when being attacked by a horde they cannot overcome. Once again, make sure you watch the survivors hands. As soon as you see a silver and small thing in his hands you will know what he’ll try to do. Just backoff and let him get killed on his own by his own grenade. That way he will only get a minus point, nothing more fun than that!

Also, some survivors ‘drop’ grenades on the ground as they run away from a zombie or a horde when they are out of ammo. They hope that, as you follow the survivor, you will run into the grenade and die. Therefor, be on your guard! Sometimes you will have to let a survivor get away in order to not get killed by the nade. That might not be much fun, but you wouldn’t have killed him anyway if you had run into the grenade.
