How to counter the magnum

The strongest weapon in Zombie Panic is the magnum. A skilled survivor is able to kill a lot of zombies with this, since the magnum has the abillity to kill you with one shot, if this shot has hit you in the head. This weapon contains 6 bullets and humans can carry up to 18 extra bullets with them. This means that in theory a survivor could get 24 kills, assuming that he doesn’t find any more ammo for the magnum.

Avoid the headshot

Knowing that a headshot will get you killed instantly you will have to do everything to avoid taking this hit. Therefor, once again, the best thing to do is ambush a survivor with a magnum from behind, preferably in a dark and small area. But especially against the magnum this is the counter, since the magnum is extremely bad in close combat. Getting a headshot is hard enough as it is, but being ambushed in small area will make it even harder. It will take 3 shots in the body before you die, since the magnum doesn’t shoot very fast you should be able to do quite some damage or even kill the survivor in this time.

When you do face a survivor with a magnum head on, you’ll have to do everything to avoid that headshot. Therefor, make a lot of use of straving, crouching and jumping. Jumping will eventually fatigue you, so you cannot make use of this forever. Also, when you strave, try to do this in a unpredictable way. Else, the survivor will just hold his crosshair at one point and wait for you to get right in it. All these things will not garantee you to do damage, or kill the survivor. But it greatens your chances. A skilled survivor will be patient and will headshot you anyway. But doing damage, or letting the survivor waste ammo is sometimes a victory as well to you.
