How to counter a melee weapon
Melee weapons are not made to win a round with. Though, some are better than others, and some survivors are better with them than others. Still, most of the time you can just face someone with a melee weapon head on. They might be faster than you though, so the survivor still might get away. Watch out for the sledge hammer. This slow but strong melee weapon can kill you in 3 hits. Move a lot around people with melee weapons, circle them to make it harder for them to hit you.
Back off
Sometimes, a human tries to circle strafe you. When this happens: back off in one direction. This way, you get an overall view again. Never allow him to keep running around you!
Crouch
Also, crouching makes it look like you’re dead. So feel free to press and hold Ctrl (crouch button by default). Not only will it look like you are dead, but you will also dodge some hits a lot easier when you go up and down. So make good use of this. Before you know it you take the human down.
