How to counter the rifle
The rifle is a very strong weapon (take a look at our weapon page to have a look at that). There are three sorts of rifles: M4, AK74 and the Mp5. All of these rifles have a magazine that contains 30 bullets. Survivors can carry up to a hundred rifle ammo plus the thirty they have in their rifle.
The ways to go
What you dont want to do is coming straight at a survivor with a rifle. The best thing you can do to get your victim down is by ambushing him from behind, preferably in a small and darkened area.
First of all because attacking from behind gives you the so called ‘free hit’. You take away 25 hp, without taking damage yourself yet. This is very important when you fight someone with a rifle. And even when you give the first damage you may still lose, because of the fast shooting that the rifle can deliver.
Therefor, attacking in a small and darkened area can increase your chance of succession. A survivor tends to panic more easily in this sort of area, and may go berserk with his rifle, missing a lot of his bullets. When this happens, try to take cover and make the human empty his magazine, as soon as this has been done go and kill him!
When headed straight on
If you do happen to encounter a human straight ahead you might wanna try to press shift to move faster, and strave forwards to either the left or right side of the survivor. Doing this increases the chances of the human missing some of his bullets. Then attack his left or right side to do damage.
These tips are not garantee that you actually kill the survivor. This depends on the skill of your victim, your own skill and on luck (wether the survivor has a 100 hp or 50 hp left for instance). So sometimes, hitting a survivor with a rifle twice is already, in a way, a victory for you.
